BREWING INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOME BREWED ICED TEA 1 QUART
Supplies Needed
Tea Kettle To Boil Water
Shatter-proof Pitcher, 1 quart capacity
Newman's Own Organics Family Size Tea Bag - 1 Quart Yield
Four Cups Fresh, Filtered Water
5 Minute Timer
Step 1
Bring four cups of fresh, filtered cold water to a rolling boil.
Step 2
Place tea bag into pitcher. Pour over 4 cups boiling water. Let steep for 5 minutes.
Step 3
Remove tea bag (don't squeeze, that adds bitterness) and discard.
Step 4
Serve over ice. Add sugar and or lemon if desired.
Note
Black tea contains caffeine. However, once steeped with boiling water, the caffeine dissipates into the liquid. If the tea bag is used a second time, most of that tea is now caffeine-free.
